Amazing Double Lottery Winners

Amazing Double Lottery Winners

– This is an unbelievable
true story.
A couple in England just won
the lottery
for the second year in a row.
Both times they won over
a million dollars.
Someone figured out the odds
are–of that happening,
are like 283 billion to one,
and I wanted to talk to
the couple,
so I contacted them
and here they are,
live via satellite from London.
Hi!
[laughter]
Can–can you hear me?
– Ellen!
– Do we have a connection?
– Hello, guv’nah!
Chip, chip, cheerio!
– Yep.
[laughter]
Oh, hello, governor to you.
And um–
Wow, let’s talk about this.
I can’t believe you won
the lottery twice in a row.
What is your secret?
– I do say,
I think it’s just luck.
The odds of winning the lottery
one time are 14 million to one!
They say you’re more likely
to be struck by lightning,
or attacked by a shark!
[lightning and thunder]
[laughter]
Blimey!
What are the odds?
I’m gonna miss the old girl.
A shark!
Help!
Help!
I’m being attacked by a shark!
– Is that–
really?
– Ah!
It’s getting my hand!
– It doesn’t seem like it has
your hand.
– No, it has my hand good, and
it’s going for the other one!
Look!
– It has both now?
– Ellen!
– Okay.
– Oh, the shark’s going for
my knee, it seems!
– It doesn’t seem like it’s
anywhere near you, it’s–
– I think it might be going for
my sock now!
– Seems like you could get away.
It’s got your foot?
– Agh!
Aah!
– It feels like you’re–
– Going for my face!
– Are you lifting your foot
to the shark?
– I don’t think so!
– That’s–
– [yells]
It’s got my leg!
Both my legs now!
Aah, it’s really coming for me!
Ah, my legs!
Ah, it’s going for my–
[indistinct yelling]
[indistinct yelling]
Aah!
[indistinct screaming]
Going back for my face!
Aah, my head again!
Ooh, oh!
– Your glasses are still on.
That is amazing.
– Bloody hell!
Whoo!
Wah!
Aah!
Aah!
My hand again!
Oh, I lost my right hand!
Now my left!
Ah, it keeps going for my hands!
– It seems like you could–oh.
(muffled)
– Aagh!
[laughter]
[indistinct screaming]
– Oh, boy.
– Don’t go for my feet!
Get off me!
The shark–
[laughter]
It keeps going for my face!
Ah, the shark–
[loud laughter]
[cheers and applause]
[cheers and applause]
[“Jaws” theme plays]
– Okay, well–
This bit needs to end now.
– Agh!
– Bye bye!
[laughter]
