Best Five Children’s Board Games For Learning English.

Hi, Welcome to Britten’s English.
Sometimes in my lessons I love to bring in a game or two.
And this video is just about that
I have decided , to give you my list of the best 5 games out there for children.
O.k, starting off with kids board game number 5
Its a classic, everybody knows it and its really good for improving your students spelling.
Of course its scrabble!
In this case, you have help
You can work out quite easily this is a house.
This is an ant and it really encourages the children to work it out themselves.
But once they develop a better understanding of English
They start producing their own words and place it on the other side.
So that’s board game number 5.
Children’s board game number 4
This one is pairs.
Pairs is really good for improving the children’s vocabulary in an easy and fun manner
Many of these little squares are placed around the table and on every square there is a picture
In this case a boat
The idea of the game is to actually find a pair
For example when i find 1 boat and then another boat I can keep them.
Then the one with the most pairs at the game. Is the winner
Children’s board game number 3
Is another great one for building up vocabulary but also adds fun and energy to the lesson.
It’s name elsewhere is ‘Spot it’
But in this country its called ‘Dobble’
The idea of Dobble is you have to find the alike symbol on these cards
And as soon as you find the alike symbol, shout it out as soon as you can to win
Well the games I have showed you so far have really focused on vocabulary and spelling.
These next two games I’m about to show you are two of my favourites.
They really focus on questions and the understanding of the children.
This is board game number 2
Board game number 2 goes by many names, but in this case its called guess it.
The idea of ‘Guess it” is you chose a word, and that word is placed on your head.
Then you must find out using questions, exactly what I am.
I could for example ask the children
Am I, am I green?
They could answer ‘Yes’ or ‘No’
If I get a yes then I can carry on and ask the next question
Am I, a vegetable?
If I get a yes again I can carry on, if no I will move on to the next person.
When i have enough questions answered correctly I can quite easily work out what it is
So its here, board game number 1 and my personal favourite
Its name.. is ‘Guess Who’
Most people know this but I’m going to go through it with you anyway.
The idea is you pick a person, also the other person chooses another person.
Then you have to ask questions to work out what the other person is.
Well thats all, I hope you enjoyed my video on the best 5 board games for children
I will list them all in the comments below and look forward to speaking to you next time.
Bye
