Blackjack Card Game Tips : Blackjack Standing Tips

Now I want to talk about standing when you
have the lead. Now this is a generalization;
it doesn’t apply to every case, but in most
cases you want to stand when you have the
lead if the dealer has an up card that likely
means he’ll be standing, okay? So, if the
dealer has a seven or an eight or a nine for
example, then you want to look for a situation
where your total hand can beat this card plus
ten, because statistically it’s more likely
he’ll have his up card plus ten than anything
else. So if I get twenty, well yeah, that
beats nineteen, so I’m going to stand. If
my cards are add up to seven I’m going to
hit. Well you know seven plus nine is sixteen;
Alas, I have to hit that. I got lucky, and
got twenty-one, and then over here eight plus
seven equals fifteen. I have to hit that,
and take my chances. I busted, but statistically
I was better off than standing. That’s the
way you play. And look at that; the dealer
did have nineteen, so the player that hit
first wins, and the player that stood on twenty
also wins.
