Businessman behind failed casino ship pitches new business

so his plan to bring a casino ship to the Coastal Bend couldn’t stay afloat and now the same businessman has new plans but all economy wants to build a condominium development and arranges pass and even smoke posted some sketches of the project just last week but all of this is a surprise to city leaders there around the Gila Preity a talk with one of them today and she joins us now with this story tequila Lee this proposal first surfaced back in 2018 and even though Conde social media post would suggest plans are moving forward the city manager and Aransas Pass says right now it’s a non-starter take a look at Vidale con DS Facebook page and you’ll see these new sketches of his latest vision for a rancis past that include an old familiar name pride of Texas that was the failed casino ship that Conte first proposed in 2014 even selling $30,000 worth of tickets for its maiden voyage now it appears he wants to bring it back along with a condo complex and resort he calls the mirielle building in on the flat lands between the city and the ferry he talked about the development and that’s something the council listened to however it’s been a year and we have not followed up on that and Condy hasn’t followed up with leaders in Aransas passed since then according to city manager Gary Edwards Edwards started in that position in September 2017 so he wasn’t here during con Dee’s first business venture but Edwards says it came up during his most recent pitch it did present the opportunity for additional questions related to what happened in the past and I’m not saying it’s bad not saying it’s good this additional questions that the council had and with no communication following that meeting Edwards says the city is not pursuing conde development idea no matter what residents or visitor’s may see on social media absolutely and in fact Lee there’s been no action on what was briefly proposed by mr. Conde by the Aransas Pass City Council and we contacted Conde to get his thoughts on this proposal and also his reaction to the city’s comments but we have not yet received a response Lee alright thank you ma’am
