WAS RUNNING ILLEGAL GAMBLING PARLORS OFFICERS SAY THEY FOUND 25 GAMBLING MACHINES INSIDE OF TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. LEUITENANT NIKKI MONIZ SAYS THEY IMMEDIATELY STARTED LOOKING INTO THIS TIP “my detectives investigated it further, we were able to get into the business and play some games in there.” THAT’S WHEN THEY FOUND ELEVEN ILLEGAL GAMBLING MACHINES INSIDE OF A BUSINESS OFF OF SAVANNAH HIGHWAY THAT WAS ADVERTISED AS A GAME AND COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP. AND LATER FOUND FOURTEEN MACHINES IN A HOME OFF OF SAVAGE ROAD. FROM THERE THEY SERVED SEARCH WARRANTS AT THE LOCATIONS…BUSTI NG PLAYERS AND THE MANAGER ON FRIDAY. “the players and the managers were very surprised.” DEPUTIES SAY THIS IS THE MAN RESPONSIBLE…FOR TY-NINE YEAR OLD WEI CHEN. HE’S CHARGED WITH TWENTY FIVE COUNTS OF UNLAWFUL KEEPING OF GAMING MACHINES…TWO COUNTS OF UNLAWFUL GAMES AND BETTING..AND POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA . LEUITENANT MONIZ SAYS THIS BUST COULD LEAD DEPUTIES TO A BIGGER CRIME GOING ON “typically these lead to more illegal activities, human trafficking, money laundering, mulitple things that are going on that are being funded by the gambling machines.” SHE SAYS THE DEPARTMENT JUST STARTED BACK INVESTIGATING GAMBLING MACHINES AND PLANS TO WORK ON THESE CASES EVEN MORE CHEN IS OUT OF JAIL ON A NINETY THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND.
