High Stakes Heads Up At The Bike!

High Stakes Heads Up At The Bike!

what’s up guys Doug talk here and today we’re going to be taking a look at a couple of hands from live at the bike this Wednesday when I got to play heads up against a string of opponents at the bike we’re doing a couple of the hands I found to be the most interesting and talked about them as far as heads up week goes I was playing and getting a few more videos out that I actually ended up being able to I always get a little ambitious with how many videos I think I can do well on the road but we’re gonna hopefully get back to a more consistent schedule starting Tuesday alright let’s go ahead and jump into that first hand much as much as I want to much as I want some redemption what is he going to be on the show next I need to play with him as much like I got to get I on but I mean I guess like my biggest bone to take is very oh man hopefully he’s on the show soon he just got back from the key key I think yesterday alright good so he’s in the mix right high stakes is on the rag Barry was in the mix like it’s on YouTube redemption hand number one begins with me coming in for a race with ten five suited and Barry deciding to three bet in the big blind with ace five off now while this can be an okay hand to mix into your play a little bit every now and then in general usually towards calling the problem with this hand is it sucks against a for bet because you’re going to have to fold additionally if you call it’s a nice hand be able to the plain single raised pots hasn’t showdown and can actually make a few strong hands as well on boards like you know wheel hands or for two days and five so in general we should lean towards calling but he assigns a three bit back over to me and with ten five suited this deep you’re looking at a pretty solid call hand you could maybe mixed up and throw on a four bet but in general I’m looking to call and take a lot of flops from student hands against a player in the big blind who’s playing a bit too loose in the big blind to begin with I do decide to call and we take a flop save a three bet from Barry with ace five what do you guys think about us three bet um according to Liberata this is completely fine it was like yeah LeBron is nothing wrong with this at all brought us like three bidding ace basically all aces particularly eighth off suits to a bigger size yes some frequency all the time Doug flops cop hair here very continuous is aggression does one mean stop talking motherfuckers or that member I think that’s that means the flop comes 10 8 7 giving both players quite strong hands I have top hair and Barry has absolutely nothing at this point decides to continue firing firing out to 85 on the flop looking to try and take it down and well this can be an OK play in general having a spide kind of sucks because now because you have an ace and a 5 those are cards you want your opponent have that could fold the flop so in general you lean towards checking and probably looking to go for a check fold now we’re going to attend 5 suited I have a very clear call raising doesn’t accomplish much because if my opponent is bluffing with a hand like a is 5 I really want him to have a chance to can you firing on turns and rivers you can develop some hands to raise here on the flop like straight to 2 pairs and maybe some gut shots as a bluff but in general you want to play most of your hands that continue as a call so I call and let’s take a turn and Barry’s going friend is going to rep the one card for one straight liner here puts Doug Polk in a tough spot here this is real this is real this is real Barry wood he’s just like he this is like the nothing burger and it’s just like vomited into like a range of two parents traits yeah I’m like if you’re firing up the flop of eights live off this is a way you’re gonna go for it the whole dog is not deterred the turn comes a jack and at this point Barry should decide to slow down in the spot out of position it tends to suck because when you do have a nine if you decide to bet them what does it mean when you check and if you check all your nine how are you able to bet with Bluffs so generally sitting a good big line approach here is to check almost all your hands in this situation now if you want every now and then by the nine and every now and then bed a hand like king queen or a bee queen X or maybe even ace Queen I can get behind that strategy but in general you want to be looking to mainly check here as the big blind after Barry does besides a bet and it’s over to me with ten five I’m not in exactly a great situation if the board comes in nine I am obviously shopping on the board and if my opponent has me beat I’m usually pretty much dead in fact if he has a nine I am dead to a chop on nine river so in this situation I’m thinking that either Barry has a straight or he’s just trying to bluff me and the good thing about having a pair like a 10 here is if he’s bluffing he’s actually in pretty bad shape now I would fold some hands here and it’s important to think about all your hands separately if I called every pair I’d be stationing too much and Barry could exploit me by betting with straights so it’s important to kind of fold some of those hands like eight like seven six or maybe eight six some of those lower pair hands you could have on the flop those can let it go but if you start to fold every 10 you’re going to fold way too much against an opponent who is likely going to have a lot of Bluffs so I decide to call unless take River see if you can continue the story oh it’s actually really bad carp about I could see Doug putting along Ice King alright H Queen working what does Barry have the hardy got a bet and just a nice old dog is really rich them likes holding such Barry woods on the stream so I are gonna have to do something magical to get Doug office both players do have a straight 24 men hammer the pole oh well then dropping the hammer all for Doug but for Doug wife you got to get got got great might be about to get gone on stream here’s a problem yes call 2404 when dealing with half the pot so anyone’s like 900 yeah and very room for the over back over bed Barry knows better he must be an upswing member Holly message just saw that the over barrel module or the over bet mod yeah maybe he’s in the lab maybe he is in the lab weird hand man weird hand the river comes an off suit 9 meaning that the boards are straight and unless someone has a queen they’re going to be playing it at this point even though I’m not a big fan of all of the decisions Barry has made up until now he decides to do something really smart and bets 2400 into a pot of around 18 or 19 hundred now the reason this is a great play is because while a small one can have some hands like you know Queen Jack Queen ten Queen eight suited Queen seven suited in general they’re more likely to have a hand like you there’s two pair that’s now chomping on the board or hand it was a nine on the turn which is going to be very upset at this river however if Barry is betting the term with a mix of some nines as with Queens then this river he gets there in a really big way he can add the total of the king queen maybe a hand like king queen or just a random queen it’s pretty bad preflop so that’s actually a bunch of hands that he can have for value which means this is a bad spot for the small blind and what the big blinds should do in this spot is over bet because then if the small blind is playing the board and they mainly are then they’re going to have a really tough decision you call 2,400 but if you’re right you only win 900 and if you’re wrong then you’re going to lose the full bet so Barry has to have not a queen something like 60 70 80 percent of the time close to 70 percent of the time in order to make this a profitable call so in this situation I’m trying to give out a lot of things I do think that ace Queen and King Queen are certainly hands I could be up against however I also think there’s some chance those hands could check on the flop or the turn the turn that does seem very polar to me and does seem like it’s either a nine or bluff the question one hand is very going to be bluffing with and I knew for a hand I’d watch against Ryan see earlier on live of the bike that he was definitely a crafty guy so that made me think a little more towards calling and you know yeah it’s not exactly clear the way you should call and fold and if you always call any straight spots you’re pointing exploit you buy by overvalue betting at the same time if you think your opponent is losing aggro you cannot be an it on these straight spots because if they are bumping you ends up being pretty terrible for you equity in the pot and then additionally in future spots you deny them the ability to Bluff you efficiently so basically in the situation well I’m not too happy about it I know I could lose to some Queens I said it put my foot down and go for a call and does makes the right oh yeah all right all right all right very Michael might be putting done a lot of applause today garbage even though this was supposed to be heads up No Limit week to celebrate the launch of my head’s of course I have a hand from PLO the great game of pot limit Omaha I could already sense Joey gay in the comments here but we are going to do a PLO ocher hands Roger that c1 record we have Z we kind of went over that little bit feet might have to be one yeah well yeah yeah oh really so good answer it again if we want so yeah and pre hope you never fold never fold aces preflop yellow don’t necessarily three about all of them Oh Sheila Raggedy almost like we aces exact I actually these are these are not these are pages but again it is like a c6 juice rainbow which gave it all free time granted one hour hand begins with pretty standard preflop PLO action I raised up the button with King Jack eight six double suited and Zac three beds with ace ace three deuce with a nut suit definitely Stan from both players and usually in PLO when you get three bet you’re almost never folding and certainly with a double suited hand like this we’re not going anywhere or reasonably I’m call you could you could all three times on the stacks and Pat your pawns fine I’m learning so much all right just as good and protector caller uh this is okay it’s like it okay so like a plush our board general is going to be really good for this person’s pretty they’re going to double suit hands Zack habits have really big hand here he faces with wrap and Doug has really a bunch of nothing but again you know not necessarily three outs to the nuts King Jack of Diamonds wrap you knows but back to a royal draw so definitely a hand that he might consider consider playing any jobs going to call the flop comes Queen five four with two clubs and Zach pops aces of the wheel draw and I flop a gutshot and a backdoor flush draw that guys to bet here on the flop which is definitely fine you has a great hand it can play for it and now the actions over me with a gutshot and King Jack of Diamonds here I think that all options are on the table I think get some conservative players you can consider just going for a fold because the end of the day your hand is pretty weak you’re only going to draw the nuts on three cards and so calling doesn’t have too much value I also think that it seems okay to raised up on the flop with this hand but I probably prefer to have maybe a significant Club in my hand that makes it less likely my opponent has the nut flush draw I can just bet jam Sheila you can go for the call which I eventually like to do looking to place in later Street and you know there’s going to be some reasonable turns and the terms of seven I have a straight ended up straight and of course a diamond gives me a flush draw ten gives me an open ender so there’s some ability to play across different turns and we are kind of on the deeper side so I decide to flat and let’s take a turn very dynamic forward a lot of turns are going to dramatically change exactly again eight dramatically change dinamic of his hand and you know his house poppers xx base is going to have to check a lot of his range here and this opens up you know a chance for Doug to steal with the worst of it I think he’ll probably go for the bet here is you know it’s hard for me very many worst hands got good removal and equity versus handling cases I think I’m good appeal 100 the product then the very I mean back of the rib again the problem is he’s drawing dead for six seven and there’s no removal for it so this is just like a really tough spot for him Zach makes a chuckhole the turn comes the eight of hearts at this point that can’t be too happy with the way things are going if I have six 70s completely dead and now as straight draws are all a lot less valuable of a six comes I mean it just takes seven and one other card to have a harvest rate and he’s still dead again seven six so everything he’s got going on is less valuable he decided to check here which seems like a reasonable play and now given how weak my hand is and the fact I don’t have a club I think we’re looking at a pretty nice hand to bet turn and jam river now it would be better obviously to have him like seven seven or six six where I very much block to nuts but past that I think this hand makes a lot of sense he’s unlikely to have improved eight eight or Queen eight because I have a blocker to those hands and additionally I don’t have any clubs so the chance that he has a club hand looking to bet and get and the flop then now check cause the turn check fold the river goes up some so he decided to check I bet and this point Zack has to call because even though he’s not thrilled with the way it’s going he does a good showdown value and can’t improve across a variety of rivers that calls and let’s take a river I think I would think HOF times have like a safe and Doug’s all I think almost certainly gonna Bluff this river and I don’t see how that can call I’ll have to say like you think he is I had like Jack a nine you know a safe eighty-seven is king queen Jack with those clubs a lot of clubs here and yeah the river comes in offsuit ten which is one of the best possible cards for me to bluff now I could have a bunch of hands a trip to two pair and want to showdown I could maybe have a couple of Jack nine type of hands that can also value bet I still have some seven fixes from the flop and it’s possible I could take a hand like eight and go bad jam because I think my opponents mainly going to check rates all in the turn with seven six so there’s a lot of different hands here on the river I can be value betting and a pair of eight is pretty near the bottom over his back and you have aces with three deuce here it’s not a good hand to have you want me on the button to have a hand like six three or six deuce or seven three really any of those types of hole things because that way I can be bluffing what is good for Zach is the fact that he also doesn’t have clubs so now there are more flush draw hand they might be looking to bluff Jam however a lot of those hands are probably going to check the turn back because if you better bust ER and get jammed on you’re in a really difficult situation and probably have to fold your equity so you might not think that those bloggers are too relevant when considering his decision sometimes though in poker when you think your puns too wide you have to make a light call you can just ask out Cirelli will this be one of those situations clubs medicine out dogs look at the pot and instantly take it oh no and yeah and it’s mainly because he blocks the six seven right which is fixed and attached I’m going to pick I want to thank you guys for joining me here today for this review of life of the bike and tomorrow we’re going to be doing a review of the big hands from the full ring games on Tuesday and Thursday we got a couple ions I’m sure people want to talk about we’ll get to them I’ll see you guys tomorrow cold to the dog song

  1. In hand number 1, can you not argue for raising to bluff him off a chop instead of calling for a chop? Instead of calling 2400 to win 900, would it not be more profitable to raise to like 5kish, risking 5k to win 4270 instead of 2.4k to win 900? Even if its difficult for us to represent a value bet I don't envisage him bluffing here then calling. or/ 3bet jamming as a bluff.

  2. I think the 3 bet with A5o is ok because you want to be able to have some really strong hands like wheels in your range on the flop that can comfortably value bet 3 streets.

  3. Doug doesn't even mention raising/jamming the river on the first hand. I know it may not be the best play, but shouldn't it be considered? Personally, I like it better than a call on the river as, based on Doug's turn analysis, if his value here is basically 9x, then the only hands to really worry about are Q9, KQ or AQ that got there that he chose to 2-barrel, or a weird line on QQ.

  4. Yo Doug, I'm by no means an expert but it might be worth offsetting your mic slightly to the left or right when you're doing analysis to avoid the plosives you got on some p's and t's 🙂

  5. doug, my buddy is a chubby chaser, thinks your cute. Says that at this rate you will be even hotter in a few months when you pack even more weight

  6. I still don't understand why every poker player has to fuck about with the chips   it don't make you look good or a pro  its just fucking annoying   seriously tho why does everyone do that

  7. Really glad you're recapping these hands. Can you post an amazon link for the blindfold Alec had on when he clicked call with JJ?

  8. I think it was crazy how everyone on twitch was talking about how fat you look on camera. Kinda rude if you ask me. But as far as the match went, Barry is way the better player from what I can see. I dont say this because of the net result. Your analysis was meh @ best! 😂😂😂

  9. When you go through the logic of thinking his turn bet represented a 9 or a bluff, does raise on the river ever come to mind as an option. If that read is right he is now in the spot of deciding to call for only half, since bluffs (outside of Qx's) and 9's now play the board.

  10. I would like to see pot limit pre flop, no limit post flop, omaha deep stacked. This would allow creative overbetting, just not pre-flop where it would be extremely lame.

  11. How come you guys are on your phones while playing? What are you doing on them? Wouldn't people think you could be colluding? serious question

  12. you are such a sore loser with luckily enough money to make these ridicioules calls – and then talk about it in hindsight when you finaly managed an explanation to justify what a bad player you are

  13. Getting hands you actually played in Poker Hands is always a nice touch, well done. A little more Binks in future vids would be the nuts too.

  14. Hey Doug. Just want to say I find your content very well. I have watched many poker hand channels. I ding them really boring. But you make these videos very well and makes me glued to the screen. Good job man. Keep it up.

  15. Doug, you have to analyze the hand with Alec T on an episode of poker hands! I would also love to see it on Alec's hand of the day.

  16. nh! especially cool point about just calling on the flop to make villain keep firing with a 1-overcard type of hand. i've always found it interesting too when villains continue barrelling as the texture continues to change from street to street. also cool point about for your river decision how on the turn you had narrowed him down to having the 9 or a bluff and therefore what 9's would he be bluffing with on the river? thanks again for the tips – keep up the good work – have fun – peace.

  17. Solid Vader impersonation. I thought it was going to sound lame but you did a pretty good job there. The poker video was ok too I guess.

  18. Dan is great, but he is the epitome of entitlement. He says to not 3b a5o when he instantly call a 3b with t5s. Libratus knows to 3b offsuit aces because people overfold to 3bets; but Polk is a station. The river call is Polk agreeing with everything I previously mentioned.

  19. it was a good fold, once there's more than one or two ways to make a straight and you're firing off like that, aces does not really seem like the joint all of a sudden. Damn, your subscribers have doubled pretty damn fast, with your cash! keep grinding and shining

  20. By folding river, you're risking 0 to win 0.
By flatting river, you're risking 2400 to win 900.
By jamming river, you're risking 9000 to win 4200.
Villain is never overbet calling river with air and in fact, villain will occasionally even overbet fold Qx on the river.
Therefore, raising river is far superior to flatting.

  21. This reminds me a a hand I had aces player to my left had QJ of spades and another player had AK off flop was AsKsJd guy with AK goes all in I call and the last person calls turn 10c river Qh we all chop..
