Blackjack is a popular table game, but you
really can’t enjoy the perks if you’re not
sure how it works. Let’s take a look at the
basics of the game and how to wager.
The deck is simple: cards 2 through 10 are
valued according to their number, face cards
are worth 10 each and aces can be worth 1
or 11, depending on what total works best
for your hand. For example, an ace and a five
could equal six or 16.
To start a hand, click the number of chips
you want to wager. If you make a mistake,
simply click ‘clear.’ When you’re ready, click
‘deal,’ and you’re off!
To win, you need your total to be higher than
the dealer’s without going over 21. You can
‘hit’ to take one more card at a time, or
‘stand’ if you like your total.
The dealer needs to get at least 17, and if
they do they have to stop. In this case you
have 19 to their 18, which means you win.
But let’s say you had 17 instead… that would
have resulted in a loss.
