1, 2, 3… Sapphires! We are Reddish based, we are very local, we started about two and a half years ago very much a team effort all year round, if a players comes off and a player goes on there is no-one moaning who goes on who doesn’t go on, they work, if they lose they lose as a team if they win they win as a team. One thing I will give these girls is that they absolutely are not selfish they work hard, they play hard but they actually will take criticism if you have a go at them they take it on the chin, that’s what I think. Where are they going to go? They are going further and further three of the girls in my team are playing next week in the National top four they are playing in leagues that is above their things so as a team, really well done! From a parents point its vital that parents get involved in clubs because without the parents I wouldn’t have the transport, I wouldn’t have the finances I wouldn’t have the backing of getting them there so they deserve as much off court as on court thats how I feel as a coach. Am I proud? Absolutely. There was one point in it you can’t ask for a better final they have beat us three times, and we drew one, so I think we just answered it back! Lets go Sonics, lets go! I encourage them if they actually just watch what they’ve seen today how many parents… C’mon Sonics!… …how many parents and players are taking part in this, its important that it stays local but its also important that we look at the development in a constructive way and if it needs changes to makes them changes and bring the standards so that nobody goes out of the area we bring the talent into the area, so its about us all working together as teams, jointly to link it to make it a basketball centre to be proud of that’s what I believe maybe look forward to seeing you all again next year! The winners are… Sonics!
