Nashua casino dealer accused of dealing from bottom of deck


KRISTEN: THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED
BACK IN OCTOBER, STAFF HERE AT

THE DEALER WAS APPREHENDED

HE WAS DEALING THE CARDS IN A DIFFERENT WAY. POLICE SAY THE PERSON WHO DEALT
THAT HAND IS CHRISTOPHER HOPF OF
MASSACHUSETTS, WHO WAS IN CHARGE
OF THE GAME MISSISSIPPI STUD, A
VERSION OF POKER PLAYED AT THE
BOSTON BILLIARD CLUB IN NASHUA.>>IT SEEMED ODD TO THE PIT
BOSS. THEY IMMEDIATELY WENT TO
SECURITY AND THE SECURITY
CAMERAS. KRISTEN: THE CASINO SAYS
MANAGERS KEPT A CLOSE EYE ON
HOPF THROUGH THESE SURVEILLANCE
CAMERAS, AND WHEN THEY NOTICED
HE WAS DEALING THE CARDS FROM
THE BOTTOM OF THE DECK, THEY CALLED AUTHORITIES, WHO SAY HE
WAS MANIPULATING THE CARDS TO
HELP A PLAYER WIN NEARLY TWO

SOMEHOW SIGNALED THE PLAYER TO
COME TO THE TABLE AT THAT TIME
AND HE SOMEHOW GOT THE CARDS TO
THE BOTTOM OF THE DECK. THE DEALER WAS IMMEDIATELY
REMOVED AND THE PLAYER WAS
REMOVED. KRISTEN: NASHUA POLICE REVIEWED
THE FOOTAGE AND AN INVESTIGATION
STARTED. THE DEALER WAS FIRED AFTER
WORKING AT THE CLUB FOR JUST SIX
WEEKS AND THE PLAYER HAS BEEN
BANNED FOR LIFE. THEY HAVE STAFF OVER THERE
THAT IS ABLE TO MONITOR THESE
THINGS IN WORKING CONJUNCTION
WITH US TO DETERMINE AND
INVESTIGATE THESE INCIDENTS. KRISTE HOPF TURNED HIMSELF IN
ON TUESDAY, HE FACES A FELONY
CHARGE FOR STEALING FROM THE
CLUB WHICH DONATES A PORTION OF
ITS DAILY WINNINGS TO CHARITY. IT IS SAD THAT SOMEBODY WOULD
DO THIS TO A CHARITY. KRISTEN: POLICE SAY THEY ARE
ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR THE PLAYER
