NCAA Basketball Championships: Arkansas Razorbacks Defeat Dukes

The 1994 NCAA men’s basketball
championship game was a tantalizing
matchup. The University of Arkansas
Razorbacks under coach Nolan Richardson
seeking their first national
championship versus the seasoned Duke Blue
Devils led like “Coach K,” Mike Krzyzewski‎ ,
going after their third title in
four years.
Final score Arkansas 76, Duke 72. President
Clinton congratulated the Razorbacks
after the game and two months later at a
White House rose garden ceremony.
“You did your state proud
you made the president happy but more
importantly you showed America the best
about what college athletics should be
and we are all very very proud of you.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to come back
again next year and do this again.”
