Video: Suspected gambling operation out of business after investigation

START OF THE FISCAL YEAR BEFORE THE ACCREDITATION. POLICE SAY A SUSPECTED GAMBLING OPERATION IS OUT OF BUSINESS AFTER A MONTHS-LONG INVESTIGATION AND ONE EMPLOYEE IS FACING A FELONY CHARGE. THAT BUSINESS WHICH WAS KNOWN AS THE FUN IQ ARCADE WAS LOCATED IN A STRIP MALL. MELANIE HALL IS LIVE AT THE PLAZA, THERE IS JUST AN EMPTY STORE FRONT WHERE THAT BUSINESS SHOULD BE. POLICE TELL ME THAT THEY SEIZED COMPUTERS AND SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS SEVERAL WEEKS AGO BEFORE THIS BUSINESS CLOSED JUST YESTERDAY A FORMER EMPLOYEE WAS BOOKED IN THE JAIL. THE ARCADE WAS CLOSED FOR BUSINESS, HEATHER IS ACCUSED OF BEING AN EMPLOYEE AT A GAMBLING HOUSE. IN JUNE OF 2018, MELBOURNE POLICE RECEIVED A COMPLAINT ABOUT A GAMBLING ARCADE, INVESTIGATORS SAY WRITTEN IN A WINDOW, THE BUSINESS ITSELF MADE REFERENCE TO AN ARCADE GAME THAT WAS RECENTLY RULED TO BE A SLOT MACHINE OR GAMBLING DEVICE. OFFICERS BEGAN AN UNDER COVER OPERATION AND SAY INSIDE THEY PROVIDED ID AND WERE GIVEN TICKETS WITH UNIQUE ACCOUNT NUMBERS, TO LOG ONTO THE COMPUTERS AND WE’RE TOLD BY AN EMPLOYEE THEY ARE ALL MACHINE TYPE OF GAMES AND 18-CENT TO HOW MUCH MUCH YOU WANTED TO BET. THESE ARE FILE IMAGES MELBOURNE POLICE DIDN’T PROVIDE US WITH PICTURES OF THE ACTUAL MACHINES PLAYED INSIDE OF THE ARCADE SITING AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION WHEN THE BUSINESS WAS SHUT DOWN IN OCTOBER, INVESTIGATORS REMOVED COMPUTERS, MONITORS, AND $20,000 CASH. WE DID REACH OUT TO THE SUSPECT WHO PUT US IN CONTACT WITH HER ATTORNEY’S OFFICE. HER ATTORNEY ELIZABETH HERNANDEZ TOLD US FUN IQ WAS NOT OPERATING ANYTHING ILLEGAL AND SHE WAS JUST AN EMPLOYEE, WE WERE OUTRAGED SHE WAS CHOSEN TO BE THE ONE CHARGED. OUR CLIENT IS INNOCENT AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO FIGHT CURRENTLY OUT OF BOND. WE DO ANTICIPATE THAT MELBOURNE POLICE WILL HAVE MORE
