Why Lotteries Are For Suckers – Millionaire Mindset Ep. 3

Why Lotteries Are For Suckers – Millionaire Mindset Ep. 3

(dramatic music) – Millionaire Mindset Wealth Principle. I’m gonna go through,
I think, 15 of these. How many? – 15 of these, and I’m gonna
go through ’em pretty quickly, but I’ll see how much,
if you have questions, stop me, and then I’ll answer those. And just to clarify because
as I’m sharing these with you, I guarantee you one thing will happen. It fucks up your mind. Because it challenges
your conventional wisdom. It challenges your existing belief. You’ll be like confused. And when you’re confused, it means what? (audience mumbling) Yes, it’s a good thing. Confusion is good, it’s a good thing. So, wealth principle number one, think abundance, not scarcity. Think abundance, repeat
after me, actually. Think abundance, not scarcity. Millionaire Mindset Wealth
Principle number one. Here’s a interesting video
I want to play you guys. Is the mic on? If you’ve seen it, don’t say anything. If you’ve seen it, don’t
say anything, okay? Just shut the fuck up, okay? Just right there, is it on? Okay, here we go, where’s my mouse? – We’re here live where
people are doing it the old fashioned way, they’re just
filling out bubbles here. I wanna turn some of these
people around and ask you guys. Sir, can I ask you what
your lucky numbers are? – I’m gonna pick 14,
24, two, seven, and 15. – Those are your lucky numbers. Can I tell you what, do you
know your chances of winning? – Slim to none. – Slim to none, you’re
right, let me tell you, it’s one out of 292 million. What do you think about that? – I knew it. – [Reporter] You knew it. Your numbers are lucky though, am I right? – I hope so, I hope so. – Can I ask you, if you won all the money, what would you do with it? – Bunch of hookers and cocaine. – Okay, that’s not good, we were hoping for a different answer. That’s probably not the
answer that we’re looking for. Alright. – $500 million can make a huge difference in someone’s life, Ophelia, thank you. – You know the PowerBall, right? So that billion dollar jackpot, right? Like three people won and
the guy who actually won. Is it on? Yeah, okay. Let’s see, where’s that slide? Okay, here we go. PowerBall jackpot winner
dies of cocaine overdose after partying with hookers. He won an estimated $327 million lump sum. – [Woman] Geez, I
could’ve used that money. – It actually happened,
and it’s not the same dude. (audience laughing) Now possibly, he got
the idea from that guy. It’s possible, it is possible. What he means is most people,
they actually don’t know how to handle large sums of money. Like in this case, is he
lucky or is he not so lucky? He’s dead. (audience laughing) Like, dead equals not lucky. He’s dead. So think in terms of most
people don’t know how to handle it, so they
don’t know how to make it, they definitely don’t know how to keep it. And also, if you actually
look at statistics, most of the people who win these lotteries and all that stuff end up
broke, completely broke. Or worse, in two, three
years, in two, three years. Reminds me of a story, and
I’m gonna share a story. So one guy, one day he
knew he won the lottery. Millions of dollars, millions of dollars. And he knew he has the ticket
and just the day before he would go claim the money, he called up every single friend
and every single family and say, “Hey, can I
borrow $1,000 from you?” And then they would say, “What’s it for?” “I can’t tell you, but can I
just borrow $1,000 from you?” “No, are you into drugs? “What trouble have you
gotten yourself into?” So he called everybody, almost
nobody gave him money, okay. Next day, he, you know, claimed the money and the whole newspaper, they eliminated a lot of inbound calls. (audience laughs) A lot of inbound calls, okay. So they’re like, “Oh shit, I wish “I had loaned him the $1,000.” Right? What I’m saying is, yes,
how do you contain… So if you actually made it yourself you will know what it
takes and if you lose it, it really doesn’t matter. You can always make it again,
you can always make it again. So that’s why personally I
never, never, ever buy lottery. I just don’t. I don’t like the odds. I don’t. How many of you buy lottery,
be honest, it’s okay. Okay, sometimes, okay. It feels like there is no
harm buying a lottery ticket. Oh, you know you might win. Why do you buy lottery tickets? – [Man] It’s weird, I
actually don’t want to win. – Actually don’t want to win? That’s pretty fucked up, man, but anyway. (audience laughing) – But, yes? – [Man] I want to earn it. – Yes. – [Man] I buy with friends. – Buy with… Just blame the friends, right? (everyone laughing) I like that, I like that. No, but why did you buy it, seriously? – [Man] I think you are really just paying for the excitement and
the hope of winning. – Yeah, the hope of winning. So, it doesn’t do harm, right? Two dollars, three
dollars, right, it’s okay? But what that does, see I’m so aware, and I’m very cautious of
what I put into my mind. Okay, you want to be more aware. Because from my point of view is if I buy that lottery ticket, the two dollars, the three dollars, everybody has that, but what does that tell to my subconscious? I need to, I need luck to get rich. Maybe I’m not good enough. Without the lottery ticket,
without this opportunity, I’ll never make it. That’s what it means,
what’s one telling myself? That’s why I don’t even dare to do that, not one bit, not one small
little inner conflict, I don’t even want it. Completely eliminate, never bought one. I never bought one. And to a point now, I look at, quite frankly, 20, 30, 50 million dollars. I look at lottery, I looked at it, that’s not a lot of money. That’s how I think,
that’s not a lot of money. Is that a good belief to have? – [Man] Yes.
– I can make it. Yeah, it’s all cash, I can
make it, what’s the big deal? I don’t need a lottery ticket. Chris? – [Chris] I think also it has to do with the mindset as well because it really kind of gives
a person false data as to how I’m going to achieve the money– – Yes. – [Chris] You know, based on extreme– – Yes, you’re trying to get it by, well, try to get something for what? – [Audience] Nothing. – That’s not based on value. It’s not based on value, I’m telling you, I’m not a person of value,
so that one behavior, it equals a lot of things subconsciously. So it doesn’t feel like a big deal. Oh, I’m just buying with my friends. Or, you know, this and
that, or it’s kind of cool the excitement, whatever it is. It tells you, your subconscious
mind tells yourself a lot about money, how you view money, how you view wealth, make sense? Be careful, be careful. So if you believe wealth is limited, you view it as a zero sum game. If you believe that each
dollar that you have came to you at someone else’s expense, you gain another person’s loss, that keeps your wealth
attraction power turned down. Never to full power. If you believe every dollar that you make someone is losing a
dollar, if I make a dollar somebody’s losing, it’s a zero sum game? Guess what, you don’t want
to be a bad person, do you? So then you make sure,
subconsciously, you don’t what? You don’t what? You don’t make the money. You don’t make the money. Never the full power. So as you work harder, but you
have this emergency brake on, it’s counter-productive. That’s the bad news. The good news is if you can release this, you can go forward,
everything becomes easier. It is what I call in the
flow, in the flow of money. In Chinese, there’s a saying,
Panxuan, circling money, not making money, it’s not make money. You look at the word, it’s circling, in Chinese saying, money. It’s not create money,
it’s circling money. Yes, Chris? – [Chris] Is that why they
call it a currency then because it travels in like– – Yeah, yeah, you’re in a flow. Let me give an example. How many of you have a
refrigerator at home? Okay, what do you have
on your refrigerator? Just, just, huh, pictures, okay yes? – [Man] Cereal. – Huh? – [Man] Cereal. – Cereal, okay, yes. What else, do you have
those fridge magnets? What do you put on there,
calendar, what do you have? – [Man] Nothing. – Nothing, okay cool, nice and clean? Nice, okay good, that’s a good thing, yes? – [Man] That looks like my fridge. (people laughing) – Who said it? That looks like your fridge? Man, we’ve got some work to do, man, we’ve got some work to do. Do you know people actually
put their statements and bills on the fridge? Okay, guess what? Every time you open the damn fridge, you look at that, what does that attract? More bills and more statements. Debt, that’s what you look at. Let me give you another example. Your drawers, your drawers, okay, people put their what? Bills, statements, receipts, be honest, how many of you, your drawer, it’s a mess? It’s okay, yeah, it’s okay, it’s a mess. How many have bills,
statements in your drawer? Okay, what else do you
have in your drawer? Kitchen drawer, or you
know, office, whatever. What else do you have? – [Man] Bills, receipts– – Huh?
Receipts, crap, what else? What else? – [Man] Binders. – Binders, okay, good,
you want more binders? Put more binders in your drawer. What else? Nothing? – [Woman] Files. – Files. – [Man] Socks. – Socks, right? Here’s what I have in my drawer. – [Audience] Yeah. Cash. Cash. (audience mumbling) Every damn time I open drawer, damn, that’s a lot of cash. It’s what I call, write
this down, wealth trigger. I have a lot of wealth
triggers in my house. See, I don’t talk about these things. Well, you guys never ask, but I don’t talk about these things. Money. Imagine every time you open
a drawer, you see this. How does that make you feel? It’s pretty tough to feel, like, scarcity, when you are like, shit, damn. I try to get a pen, let me put my, like… Aww, then I put the cash back, right? But sometimes, I notice
some of my cash disappears because my wife is like,
“Oh I need a hundred bucks.” (laughing) I don’t even count, who cares, okay? It’s just a pile of cash, a pile of cash. So that’s one of the things I have, cash. Statements, all of that,
when you get your statement, here’s what I do. When I get my statement,
envelope, I pay immediately. I don’t wait, I pay immediately. Take care of everything and then I put it away in my envelope. Take it to my accountant. Takes me five, 10 minutes. I don’t want to spend
more than five, 10 minutes of my mind focusing on paying the bills ’cause what happens, you
think, oh I’ll pay it next week and I’ll pay the week
after and then I’ll pay just the day before the
credit card statement. What happens, all these
things, they stay in the where? You keep thinking about
it, and what effort you focus on expands. And you keep getting these fucking bills. And they get bigger and
you don’t even know why. I can tell you why, ’cause
you’re thinking about it 10, 20, 30 times every month! I just want to pay it, it’s an obligation. I gotta pay utility, electricity, done. Five minutes, it’s done,
it’s my obligation. Focus on doing something
else, creating wealth. Okay, yes? – [Man] What other triggers
do you put around your house? – I’ll show you bit by
bit, that’s one of them. So then the two books I
recommend by the same author, one is called Abundance, what’s the word? – [Audience] Abundance.
– Abundance. The other one is called
Bold, by the same author, Peter Diamandis. Great books. If you have any issues
with, oh what’s happening, because sometimes the news is telling you we’re running out of food, right? What’s some of the negativity
that the media is telling you? We’ve got what’s happening
around the world, tell me. – [Man] Terrorism. – Terrorism, yes. – [Man] Killing.
– Killing, yes. – [Man] War.
– War. – [Man] Refugee crisis.
– Refugee crisis, yes. Food shortage, right, global
warming, all these things, oh my God, we’re gonna be running out of food in X amount of years,
and people are gonna die, and all these things. When you read that book, you see, the author has a totally
different point of view. That he believes using technology, it will solve all of these problems. Regardless, here is what I am saying, regardless if he is right or not, I don’t care if he’s right or not. I care those are very positive thoughts. Those are good things, those
are good belief system. I want adapt to put into this computer. That’s a good piece of software. Let’s put that in there. That’s okay, regardless
if it happens or not, but I’m very aware and conscious
of what I put into my mind. Does that make sense, okay? Your wealth is addition for you, but it’s subtraction for no one else. No one else. You making a dollar doesn’t mean you take a dollar from somebody else. So take all you can and the
universe will always make more. If you truly believe in abundance, make as much money as you can. It is the gift from the universe. It’s not limited, it’s not limited. It is like you’re worried
about, let’s say you have this vast ocean and you’re worried about, if I take a cup of water
away from the ocean that the ocean will dry up. You can take as much water as you could. It’s not gonna dry up. It’s just, it’s not, not
in our lifetime anyway. It’s just a belief that you could have. So Wealth Principle Number One. – [Announcer] 10 times your finances, 10 times your business, 10 times your marketing, 10 times your life, Hit the subscribe button now.

  1. This is good information Dan…I will be sharing this video to all of my friends. Hopefully this can elevate their consciousness

  2. I see what is needed to dominate clear high demand markets …
Knowing how to achieve them is the problem.
I see new ways to make billions from high ticket items but again it's how to achieve them while keeping a low profile and trusting everyone you work with …
Dan Lok would be the perfect partner.
One day I wish to have the ability to bring dan on board as an investor or even better as a Partner.
"Can clearly see mountains of gold in the distance but am lost on which disappearing path to walk down"

  3. This video was posted on my 20th birthday and I wish I seen it on the exact day ! Either way , this has changed my mindset for the better and I love your videos Dan ! Keep on teaching !

  4. hi Dan..I wanna start a auto parts business supplying for Australia wide mechanics and DIY mechanical mind customers..only problem is i dont get the whole skeleton or back bone of the business i need and where do i need to start.if you can help me will be much appreciated..keep doing what you're doing because its changing people's lives..

  5. Hello Dan from Tel Aviv … I am new to your channel. Thank you for the information. A little joke about the lottery odds.
The odds are 50% and 50%. Either you win or you do not …

  6. Love the Wealth Triggers! My parents continuously put bills on the fridge. I go there to get water sometimes and when I see it I usually take it and put it in their room. I don't want to be reminded of that every time I go for water…

  7. Thank you so much Dan. You have opened my eyes,  I am learning so much from your wisdom.  You are great.  May you prosper more and more 🙂

  8. Dan I’ve never done the lottery ever. I’ve always stayed away from it but I never knew why until this video. It’s completely shifed my mind and made me have another ‘aha’ moment. Now what I do is keep £100 in my wallet and let it double and triple

  9. Dan, that tragic tale of the lottery winner is a strong testament to the fact that wealth is a powerful and dynamic force which can ONLY be tamed by a disciplined mind- hence its maintenance and eventual growth under the firm control of the disciplined mind; on the other hand, wealth in the hands of the weak and undisciplined mind spells nothing but disaster- a case in point: the lottery tragic figure story. Dan, the sad part is too often lessons drawn from cases like the one above are often lost on the weak-minded among us who truly need those lessons- what a waste. Let me get off my soapbox. Thanks Dan.

  10. Thank you so much Sifu Dan! I am learning so much from your wisdom. You are great! Best wishes for you and for your family ! 🙂

  11. I'm gonna play devils advocate here and say…But Dan, if you don't like the odds of playing the lottery..didn't you just say that only 5% of us will become rich?… those aren't the greatest odds either! lol

  12. But seriously though, I get it. I think once we learn the technique of earning riches the smart way, and developing the proper mindset, it's not only much more rewarding, but also, we are more likely to have the expertise, at that point, on how to keep it!

  13. Money is power, and when someone doesn't have the mindset of wealth, abundance, and riches, it will destroy him. Even though he thinks it would solve his life problems.

  14. I don't buy lotteries either. There was a show on TV where it shows all of the lottery winners and how they lose it all in a few years.

  15. Sifu, you sound a lot like me. No smoking, no drinking, no gambling, into your training and fitness. This is how I've lived my whole life. It's no wonder why I was so compelled to joining your program!

  16. The aha moment for me was when Dan explained "Behaviour" communicates so much to your subconscious/yourself about wealth and money. The example of buying a lottery ticket made things really clear.

  17. Most people who win the lottery are broke or worse in 2-3 years. Personally, I never played the lottery. The idea just doesn't appeal to me. It's not sustainable. – Think in abundance, not scarcity. Focus on circulating money and creating wealth. Take as much as you can. The universe will always create more. It's like taking a cup out of the ocean.

  18. Thank you Dan for sharing these golden nuggets!

Principle #1 – Think abundance, not scarcity.
    • if you learn how to make it, you can make it again
    • buying a lottery ticket subconsciously tells yourself that you need luck to get rich
    • i.e. most people put bills & statements on the fridge (Having Scarcity Trigger)
    • what you FOCUS on expands / Circling Money
    • i.e. put tons of cash in your drawer, see it every time you open it (Having Wealth Triggers)
    • pay statements immediately; don't spend more than 5 mins on it (Don't allow this to linger in your mind)
    • Book Recommendations : 1. Abundance & 2. Bold by Peter Diamandis & Steve Kotler
    • If you truly believe in abundance, make as much money as you can (It's a gift from the Universe)

  19. Wealth tigger is an interesting motivation for me. Does fake notes also can be wealth triggers? (Before I could replace with the real ones.)

  20. Sifu, I'm still struggling with the idea of wealth is not a zero sum game.
You mentioned 赚(转)钱, but the the idea of circling money for me is just something that keep changes its owner, hence there is a constant amount of it.
Sifu, do you have any empowering belief to substitute this?

  21. I live in Vegas and that guy in the news broadcast could have spent that lottery ticket money at the sports book, at least the odds are better (not by much) lol. Plus Nevada doesn't have a lottery, you have to drive to the state line of Cali. Either way great video Dan I have a couple of co-workers that need to see this video.

  22. Great video Sifu! Still trying to close my wife on the idea that we don't need to buy lotto tickets.

  23. While you were discussing Wealth Triggers I opened my drawer, took out my bills, and emptied my wallet of cash into it. That was a powerful realization.

  24. The odds are against you on hitting the jackpot. I have been told the odds of you becoming president is much better than the lottery.

  25. It's a hoax, never happened. However there's a lot of lotto winners who eventually go broke and some even commit suicide.

  26. Sifu, my father won Hong Kong mark 6 twice. Fucking twice in 1982&1983. He lost both of the winning money within 6 months. Instead of using it for wise investment, he squandered it, made some stupidest business decisions. When I was born in 1984, it was the poorest time of my parent's life. My dad lost his job, and my mother made negligible income.

  27. Hey I ordered your book I’ve been reading it I’m 14 years old my name is Jeffery what can I do Convince people that I can work for them during the summer

  28. Your words are so powerful that i go in the settings and lower the playback speed to half. Keep it up boss

  29. Sifu Lok, I do play the lottery, but very rarely. It would be nice to win, but I would much rather have an opportunity to make that kind of money myself. I strongly believe in working for your keep, and not just doing the minimum to get by. But we can't deny that it would be nice to win something like that. 😉💸

  30. My dad plays all the time and i tell him i believe in ones own destiny. He continues to tell me everytime he buys a lottery ticket that" you cant win it if your not in it". I still wont take the advice. I believe in dans advice!

  31. I believe that there is unlimited abundance in the universe. I think in abundance, not scarcity. I'm very conscious of what I put on my mind because I'm aware that whatever I focus on expands. Cash in the drawer? ~ that's a great idea I'd like to adopt Sifu Dan.

  32. your my mentor Dan..I'm a small business guy in our town but I'm dreaming big and I'm implementing all your philosophy to be a successful entrepreneur ..someday I want to meet you in person and thank you…I also read rich dad poor dad.

  33. you are Fantastic! can you believe that you are talking and speaking and translating the same meaning of lottery in muslim religion, How you can be so wise and so expert ! Lovely! Sam

  34. Thank you Sifu!! My block until yesterday was that if I sell, I make people have less, as if I'm depriving them. Money circulates. If we all had a cup out of an ocean until the ocean would run off, then, we'd all have the ocean in our cups and we'll drink it or do stuff with it, it will evaporate, tuen into clouds and rain and here we have an ocean again. Thanks for the Abundance book reccomendation. I already bought it and reading it. Thanks!!

  35. Sifu Dan, could you share the symbolic significance of the paying cards decor on a wall in your penthouse. Thank you so much for all your generous videos. 👍🙏

  36. News Lady: "Can I ask you, if you won all the money, what would you do with it?"

Idiot Guy: "A bunch of hookers and cocaine" … spoken like a true dumb ass. 🙄

  37. I need luck to get rich ! That’s y most of people buy it ! Soo true ! We r the hustler we don’t need any lottery tickets! Jus hustle right n leverage the things! Will get u on top ! Luck is for losers ! N working to the core is for winners! Dan lok true legend 🙏🏻

  38. My mom say to buy the lottery ticket monthly but i don't buy bcz i have never ever see in my life that a successful person by winning that shit ticket.

  39. 95% of the time you're right on the money about that. But if you know anything about scratchers tickets every once in awhile in a certain location it would just hit left and right. That means you get five and you get 50 or 500. But like I said that's a rare occasion in a rare location. Not all the time not most. But you are right because that probably only happens once every 3 or 4 years.

  40. I just look a documentary on lottery in which a French couple who is doing very well in business won the lottery, I mean they look for a precious pearl in the seas, they take them from a specific shell in the depth of the sea, they sell them and they make between 40000 and 50000 PER MONTH even more. They say themselves to be well off and happy , they don't pay taxes, they lives close to the sea in Tahiti and their business works very well, And then they played and they won like 10 millions. I don't think that they was suckers before to play. Lottery is for suckers until someone very very close wins the big bag and at this moment opinions begin to change.🤷‍♂️

  41. Dan I would like to hear more about the wealth triggers you have at home.
Is this similar to feng shui?

  42. If you can't handle money, you will never make it. I don't play lottery, I make money by using my skills. Listen to Dan, guys, if you believe playing lottery will make you a rich person! This channel is gold for everyone who is willing to listen.
